The DTTP is charging a tuition fee of £9000 for the 2012/13 course. Eligible trainees can apply for a tuition fee loan to cover the cost of these fees. The loan can be repaid once you have finished studying and are earning over £21,000 per year.
Trainees in England who satisfy residency requirements may also be eligible for
- Maintenance Grant or Special Support Grant – worth up to £3250
- Maintenance Loan – worth up to £5550 if you live away from home

Trainees who are eligible for the full maintenance grant will also be eligible for a non-repayable bursary from the DTTP. Further details of the bursary scheme are available upon request.
The Government want to incentivise those with good degrees to become teachers by offering non-repayable bursaries. For primary courses these are:
Trainees with a First: £9000; Trainees with a 2.1: £5000
