Being a school based tutor has been a valuable experience which has enriched my own practice, allowed me to work collaboratively with student teachers and brought new ideas and enthusiasm into my classroom Gwyneth Irvine, SBT.

The DTTP is charging a tuition fee of £3145 for the 2008/09 course. Eligible trainees can apply for a tuition fee loan to cover the cost of these fees. The loan can be repaid once you have finished studying and are earning over £15,000 per year.

Trainees in England who satisfy residency requirements are eligible for a non-means tested maintenance grant of £1,260. A further £1,575 is available depending on your household income.This grant is non-repayable.

Trainees who are eligible for the full maintenance grant will also be eligible for a non-repayable bursary from the DTTP. Further details of the bursary scheme are available upon request.

Trainees on this course, who are ordinarily resident in the UK or European Union, will qualify for the £4000 Training Bursary. This is paid in 9 monthly instalments (from October to June).
